103 | This name should be altered so as to agree with the last: i.e. Allt Torboll or Torroboll. It has been erroneously turned into Gaelic. Torboll or Torroboll is undoubtedly a Norse name, but the examiner wrote the last syllable so as to read - bal instead of - bol, the former being a Gaelic, the latter a Norse termination, and gave an imaginary meaning to the name, which was turned into Gaelic in the office. |

103 | Not collected on the ground, but I have no doubt Loch Laro is correct. The examiner imagined a meaning, & it was turned into Gaelic accordingly. The name of the burn flowing out of it (on sheet 108) was originally collected by a different examiner as Allt Loch Larue, not na Làraich. |
