010 Runn[in]g N.E. & form[in]g a portion of the boundary of the parishes of West Calder & Mid Calder A small stream rising on the moors west of the Roman Camp, and flowing in an easterly direction - through the estate of Harburn, joins the Linhouse Water, near Camilty Mill. For a short distance it forms the parish boundary. Name supposed to be taken from the colour of the water.

010About 1 3/4 miles E.S.E. from West Calder A small wooden station on the Caledonian Railway and about 15 miles from Edinburgh. It consists of an office and wating [sic] room and serves as a station for the village of West Calder. Four trains, up and down, stop here daily.
