128 A small ruin situated about 90 yards N. [North] from Tobar Choluim-chille, The walls, which are of dry stone, very neatly built, are about 8 feet in height, and almost intact. The prevailing belief amongst the inhabitants of the neighbourhood is that the chapel was built by St. [Saint] Columb[us] The Revd.[Reverend] Mr Graham of Easdale who calls it "Church") thinks it "Cannot be as old as Columba's day" The antiquities are referred to in the Imperial Gazetteer of Scotland as follows:- "They" - Garvelloch Isles - "were a residence of the monks of Iona and therefore are often called the Holy Islands. Some vestiges of a Chapel and a Cemetery are still observable."
