About 1 m. [mile] S by W. [South by West] of Thullochans. near the
highest part of the watershed at an elevation of

Clach na Caipleich
600' is a thin sandstone slab measuring 4'
in total length by 2' in breadth and 3" in
thickness. It faces NE. [North East] and SW. [South West] and on the
latter face is traced a rude (?) Celtic cross. The
cross measures 2'.6" in extreme length, 1'.2" &
across the arms. The stem is 4" broad &
the arms which slightly expand are 6" in
length. At 5" below the crossing a line
has been drawn across the shaft. The
angles at the points of intersection are
not rounded. The shaft is rounded at the
base. The slab is broken in three pieces
but the fragments are lying at the base.
The stone is known as "Clach na Ceplich."

About 1 1/4 m. [miles] to the WSW. [West South West] of Thullochans.
on the N. [North] side of a burn which runs into the
S. [South] end of the Westmost of the two lochs is
another group of small rectangular
buildings which have been built with large
stones the largest some 30' in length. One
of the constructions round in plan,
24' in dia. [diameter] with a narrow opening 1'.7" in
width towards the S. [South] has probably been
