suspect that this is the remains of a galleried
house.

Hut circle. Unnoted.
Some 3/4 m. [mile] N by W. [North by West] of the second group of ruins,
on a low green mound in the moor are the
remains of a hut circle. The structure has
been formed entirely of turf and is now
much effaced. Its interior dia. [diameter] is 22'. the
turf bank 9' thick. and the entrance from
the S. [South]
The walking over these moors is very bad,
the surface being very uneven and much
broken with water holes.

Backlass. Stone circle. /Unnoted

At Backlass some 200 yds. [yards] W. [West] of the
Shepherd's house and immediately outside
the garden wall are the remains of a stone
circle. Only a segment towards the N. [North] exists
consisting of five stones apparently in situ
and one displaced. The stones are for the
most part pointed and not high above ground.
Counting from the W. [West] No. 1. is 2'.9" in height.
1'.9" in breadth at base and 1'.6" in thickness.
No. 2. Is respectively 1'.5", 1'.7" & 1'.4". No. 3.
1'.8", 1'.10" and 11". No. 4. 2'. 1'.8" & 1'.2". No. 5.
2'.3", 3'.4" & 1'. 5". A large displaced
stone 6'.6" long 3'.3" broad & 1'.5" thick
is lying half upon the Eastmost stone.
