A very rough, precipitous bank, rising to a Considerable height above the River Avon N.E. [North East] of the Avon Viaduct 4 1/2 miles N.W. [North West] of Belsyde, the soil & trees at this place have been washed away by the rains loosening the soil which is of a bluish shade, this turf slope which is inaccessible terminates at the edge of the River in a steep rocky ledge, there are a few scattered trees still clinging to its surface
