005 [situation] About ½ mile NNW [North North West] of Easter Carribber
A massive stone structure across the River Avon, and connecting the two sides of a wide glen or valley, over which it conveys the Union Canal, it is situated about a mile and a quarter S. [South] West of Linlithgow Bridge & N.W. [North West] of Woodcockdale Cottage. It is composed of twelve arches resting on massive buttresses, broad at the base & narrowing as they ascend, the arches being thus wider at the top than at the bottom, on the top of the low parapet walls is a very Strong and high iron railing - the height of the arch over the bed of the River is about 80 feet.
