009 | [Situation] Passing nearly through the central part of the town of Bathgate. This is the second best street in the town and is composed of houses one & two storeys high the latter being of a very good description - the former are generally thatched and in good repair - all having gardens in rear. In this street is the Post Office and Bathgate Hotel, also the Union Bank of Scotland. It extends N.E. [North East] from the N. [North] end of Engine Street to the junction of Gideon and Marjoribanks Streets. It contains two Public houses and two fountains. |
