010.15 ; 017.03 | This name is applied to a beautiful promenade commencing at Wolf Craig and the Dumbarton Road, on the South part of the town, it gradually rises through a Grove of tall trees and then by the naked and rocky edge of the hill, till it attains near to its Summit under the Castle, it then winds around and Skirts that lofty eminence and terminates at the Mote Hill. This walk is one of the most pleasing Ornaments of the town, from its gradual increasing elevation, and the magnificent landscape it discloses to the eye, which is beheld to a very great advantage. |
