010.16 A low strip of land through which a small burn passes Called "Hope Sike" from which circumstance the latter derives its name. The Hope extends only a short distance on each side of the PiKe as it is merely applied to the hollow which resembles a Cleuch.

010.12 ; 010.16 A small stream which has its Source on the east side of a hill called Ladhope Middle from which it runs till it passes Ladhope dwelling house, near which it joins the Yarrow. A portion of it is turned into a Mill pond for the purpose of turning the Threshing Mill at Ladhope.
