010.16 A small stream which rises in the farm of Ladhope and joins Ladhope Burn at the W [West] base of Crook Hill.
It is so called from it crooked or curved appearance, perhaps because it somewhat resembles a shepherd's Crook.

It is composed of Rocky pastures which may account for the term rough being applied to it.
