003.12 ; 004.09 ; 004.13 A double line of Railway extending from Edinburgh to Kelso through the Town of Galashiels and ending so far as the North British line is concerned at the boundary which divides the parishes of Kelso & Sprowston, about ¾ of a mile below Kelso Station; from which point it is continued by the North Eastern Cos. [Company's] line of Railway to Tweedmouth thus connecting it with the direct Main line from London to Edinburgh. On its way, it throws off 4 branches - one to Peebles, from Bonnyrig; one to Selkirk from Galashies; one to Hawick from Newtown Junction & the 4th to Jedburgh from Roxburgh Station. Recently an Electric Telegraph has been laid down.
