008.09 A large stone in the centre of the River Tweed. Situated close to the E [East] end of a Fishing stream.
Lies about half way between Yair and Tweed Bridges - before these Bridges were built, a well known Ford was near this place , & the riding Stone at that time Served a very useful purpose & consequently became generally known in time of floods, as it served as a Beacon to warn those about to cross of danger according to the depth it was Submerged
