From Mosalee, it turns, Southward by the West Side of (Boghall; long since destroyed) And at the end of two miles, arrives at the Rink Hill, on the Summet of which there are remains - as the name implies - of a British hill-fort, that is of An eliptical form, and defended by two ditches, and two ramparts of earth And stone. From the Rink Hill the Pictsworkditch proceeds in South West direction, across the Tweed, near the influx of the Houdenpot Burn at which place it enters the Parish of Selkirk. The remains of several Branch fortified ditches and Small out posts appear in the Neighbourhood of Rink Hill. |
