It is not now Known, that this ever was a "Castle", but got this name from the walls being of Such An unusual thicKness.
The name "The Castle" is well Known - as applicable to this house but it is doubtful whether a Castle ever stood on the ground the house is erected on but some ancient building certainly did stand here.
