[South] West Corner of the Square; and tho' inferior to Roxburgh Street in length, is superior in general appearance, and contains many elegant houses - this street sends off Ovan Wynd and Havanna Close the latter leading to Ednam House - and the Abbey Close, anciently the thoroughfare to the old Bridge. Mill Wynd leaves the west side of the Square at a right-angle with Bridge St. and leads to the Corn mill. The streets called The Horse & Wood Markets go off from the East Side of the Square and lead towards Coldstream & Dunse. [Continued on page 5] |
