090 | This name is applied to the remains of an old Tower or Fortalice, Situated adjacent to the farm house of Arkendeith. Nothing now remains except the lower Story or Dungeon, and nothing appears to be known about the date of its erection neither can any authentic information be obtained whoerected or inhabited it, there is a tradition in the district that it belonged to the Clergy who held considerable possession in the parish, but the general belief is that it belongs to the Bruces of Kinloss who held lands in the parish in the Seventeenth Century "See Statistical Account of the parish of Avoch".
