"The Manor of Hoprew (which together with Lyne and Megget is
rated in the tax of this Shire at £20 of old extent) belonged at the End of the
13th Century to the Frasers. It had an old Tower house and at Drevah
which was a part of the Pithope Manor there was another place of
defence".
