013 [Situation] Near the gate of Kerfield

A large boulder stone built into the wall near Kerfield gate. It is a well known object being a common rendezvous for the young people of the district and is as a trysting place for lovers; but it does not appear to possess any antiquarian interest, as nothing , either written or traditional exists regarding it. This stone was formerly situated on a small Knoll close to it's present position

[Note] -- "It is a quartz boulder which has probably been
transported from the Highlands by an iceberg
and dropped in that spot. I never heard of
it by any other name than as the "White Stone",
nor was any historic legend of fact connected with
it as far as I Know" -- (Signed ) R Chambers
