A small eminence between Cockburn Castle & Cockburn Cottage, it is circular in form and planted with wood - excepting a small round space in the centre, wherein is the grave of Piers Cockburn. From the name it perhaps might be assumed to be also the site of the "Ancient Chapel" that once stood in the neighbourhood.
