Walls Ph. [Parish] Orkney

There are also in this district Several remains of what is believed to have been "Picts forts" or houses which go under the name of "Green Hills" but tradition is Silent regarding them, A short distance South west of the present parish Church is the Site of a Chapel known now by "The Red Kirk" - which is Supposed to have been in use about the 16th. Century and then known as The Cross Kirk or Church of the Cross, These Suggestions were made by the Rev. [Reverend] James Russell Minister of the parish of Walls & Flotta
The proprietors of South Walls are J.G.M. Heddle Esqr [Esquire] of Melsetter, Edward E. Corrigall Esqr [Esquire] of Kirbuster, and Mrs. Ann Bruce North Ness,
