[Situation] North Side of York Place A large & handsome edifice the Gothic style It consists of a [nave] with four octagon towers, two at [each] end. Two aisles run on each side [of] the nave supported by light [but ---] In the eastern end is an elegant [---] of stained glass representing a cross surrounded by a glory. Its interior is well fitted with galleries &c. and a well toned organ. The church [is] seated for about 1100. Bishop [Tennant] and the Revd [Reverend] W. Toffnal officiates here whose stipends jointly amount to £800 paid by the congregation. The church was erected in 1819 cost [£13000] defrayed by subscription from the congregation. |
