015 An Extensive Farm consisting of near 2000 acres of Land the greater portion of which is Rough Pasture & moorland the remainder arable It has an excellent dwelling house and out-houses and is thickly Studded with refuse Heaps of Old Iron Mines, none of which are now wrought; there is also a very extensive Limework in full operation on the Farm The Farm is the property of Mr Haer and occupied by J. Young Tradition says that a very extensive wood existed here the whole of which was felled by the Hand Axe hence the name.
