006 A stone built County Bridge crossing the Swanston Burn. conveniently situated to Bowbridge house, on the road through Morningside leadinding tp Pennycuik, Carlops, Bigger and Westlington, There is not the least doubt but this bridge derived its name from the peculiar manner in which it is built in the somewhat shape of a "Bow" it is one of the largest on this road the span of which is about 30ft.
