A large and handsome mansionhouse in the Gothic Style of architecture Situated at the eastern extremity of Musselburgh. The date of its erection is unknown. It is supposed to have belonged to the MonKs of Dunfermline and to have been the Country seat [of] the abbots of that celebrated Abbey. On a grass plot in front of the [---] stands a fountain in the form of [---] mitre, erected in the most elaborate Style.
