006.04 A line of railway from Glasgow to Carlisle. The "Glasgow & Garnkirk Section" seems to be known only to the Railway officials. In Time Table the "Garnkirk Section" does not appear, all on it being under the head of "Caledonian [ Ry. Railway]." The "Glasgow & Garnkirk Section" is the name according to Act of Parliament. It extends to Whifflet in Old Monkland Ph.[Parish]; X From St. Rollox in Glasgow to Milton in Maryhill Parish, is the "Glasgow & Garkirk Section". X that part of it being wholly used for carriage of minerals. From Milton to the station in Buchanan St.[Street] was made by the Caledonian Company & is commonly called, the "Glasgow Extension." The engineer of the line does not think the "Extension " worthy of any distinction, "Caledonian" being sufficient. The "Glasgow & Garnkirk Section" applies to the wholeline of railway from St. Rollox in glasgow to Whifflet in Old Monkland Parish.

Transcriber's notes

Suspect that the part between X and X should come after the "carriage of minerals"
