CHURCH [Shettleston] Church Church Church Revd. J. Leckie R. Law Ch: Manager Summons of disjunction & Erection 007.13 A good Stone building erected in 1751 as a Chapel of Ease to the Barony Ph. Church. It contains 906 sittings. There is still a committee, styled "Ch: Managers," who are responsible for keeping the Ch: in repair &c. They represent the subscribers by whom the Church was originally built. On the erection & disjunction of this Ph. from the Barony Ph. of Glasgow, this Church was declared the Parish Church of Shettleston under the provisions of the Act 7th & 8th [ict: Cap] 44. That if "in disjoining or erecting a new Parish there "is already built & in good repair, a Church "or place of worship suitable for the church "of the new Parish proposed to be erected, it "shall be lawful to appropriate it for that purpose"
