010.03 Two detached Lanes one leading from Main Street to Cathcart St the other leading from the end of Cathcart St, or the east end of Burn Road, to "Burnside Powerlo [Powerloom] Factory" This was anciently called Pauls Road and is popularly said to be the way in which Queen Mary made her return from the Battle of Langside.
I can find no one in Rutherglen that ever heard of it being named Dins Dikes, see Description for Greenhill Road, as mentioned in the Historic extract, but it was, and is to this day popularly known as Pauls Road altho [although] the town authorities have recently named as on trace.
LITTLE LANE Little Lane Corner Tickets 010.03 A very short and narrow Lane leading from Main St to King St.
