021.15 A large and important Stream which rises in the Co.[County] of Edinburgh, and after a long and circuitous course joins a stream called North Medwin, the united waters falling into the River Clyde. the banks of this stream during its course through Lanarkshire, are generally low, the adjacent flat lands being frequently inundated by it during the winter Season, it forms the N.E. [North East] Boundary of Dolphinton Parish, dividing it from the Parish of Dunsyre, it forms also the boundary of the Parishes of Liberton, Carnwath & Walston; current of medium rapidity, and gravel bed
