024.03 A superior dwelling having offices attached for farm purpose, occupied and wrought by the proprietor, J. Hutchison Esqr. The Lesmahagow Railway passes "Woodside", on the west side. There is an old colliery on this property.There are large orchards around the houses, which are kept as vegetable gardens.

024.03 This colliery has been about 30 years in use, and coal has been taken out to the extent shown in yellow. The houses, occupied by workmen, about the pit bear the name of the colliery and always will, no matter to what extent the coal may be wrought. The name should not be applied to the centre of the coal workings as it is the name of the houses as well.
