034.13 'From the Cat Craig the Roman Road proceeds in the direction of Biggar, and about a mile after it has crossed Culter Water, we find a Camp situated on the top of the hill which intervenes between it and the Clyde. There is no water near it and being situated in a plantation the ramparts and ditch are not easily traced. It appears however to have been a rhomboid of 190 by 164 feet.'
(On the ancient camps of the Upper Ward by G.V Irving Esqr)

This camp is situated on the top of a gentle hill which is planted with fir trees and known as the Castle Plantation, the ramparts of the camp are slight but the formation which is rhomboidal can be easily traced on the ground. There is no trace of a ditch perceptible, and the sides of the camp to the N E and N W are slightly curved. This camp has a very meagre appearance as a place for defence,
