026.10 | A large stream which rises in the North of Carnwath Parish and for a Considerable extent forms the Boundary between Carstairs and Carnwath Parishes after it receives the Dippool it changes its Course from South to West and flows through extensive tracts of Mossy lands towards the Western Boundary of the Parish its banks are steep and beautifully wooded. but during the Greater part of its Course the banks on either side are liable to extensive innundations. __ it enters the Parish of Lanark a little to the West of Cranley Cottage throughout which Parish its Scenery is most romantic |
