051 The site of an old castle which was formerly the residence of the McClellans of Bombie. It is situated on the top of a precipitous bank on the margin of Gridbae Burn round the South Side of it is the appearance of a fosse, but very much defaced and scarcely visible. It seems to have been a fortified residence.

051 This name applies to this Burn from where it is joined by Gribdae Burn until it enters the farm of Grange about a mile below Buckland Bridge it then takes the name Grange Burn to its influx into the River Dee.
