FORT [Belig] | Fort Fort |
John Muir Esq. Mr. Rigg |
051 | A fort on the summit of Doon Hill and farm of Belig. It is nearly circular and surrounded by a fosse and ramparts which are now nearly level with the general surface in consequence of cultivation. The interior of the fort and the fosse being ploughed and only the ramparts left uncultivated. I can get no information relative to the origin of this object, but it is generally called a Fort and this is strengthened by the hill upon which it is situated being called "Doon Hill" |
