On voyage from the English Side to Glencaple Quay it here became a Wreck, by Sinking on the South Side of the BlackShaw Bank. the Whole of the Wreck is now Sunk in And Cover'd over with sand its South Mast only remaining Above the Surface of the Sand, It was made a Trignl. [Trigonometrical] Station of by the Trig [Trigonometrical] Party & called by the given name. Since then it was broke by the Current of the tide And only about three feet of its Stump remains above the Sand. |
