023.11 A Small Hamlet on the Road Side and about half way between the Villages of Marykirk and Fettercairn, there is a Public House at the Cross Roads, "Sauchieburn Inn" is written on the Sign Board, but the accommodation is only meagre.

Independent Chapel Independent Chapel (Congregational Union) 023.11 There is also a Chapel here built and still used by the Independents of the Congregational Union, there are at the present time about 40 members, and during the week their children are taught in the Chapel. A small oblong in front of the Chapel surrounded with Iron Railing is used by the members as a Burying Ground, but there has not been an interment for some time.
