021.07 | There were found about 8 or 9 years ago at the places marked on Trace two Stone Coffins, in one of the Coffins were two Skeletons Said to be those of a Male and Female of mature growth, the Skeletons were almost entire, and in the Same Coffin were two Urns of dried clay containing ashes &c. One of the Urns is now in possession of Mr James Smith, Upper Fernyflatt, it is in good preservation and appears to have been ornamented by cross lines as shown on sketch. [Sketch inserted on page]. In the other Coffin was one Skeleton, but no Urn. The Skeletons were interred in the Grave Yard at Kinneff. The place where they were found is a very dry hillock composed of hard gravel, and the dry nature of the place may probably account for the Skeletons and Urns being in such a good state of preservation.
