025.05 A large artificial mound principally composed of earth and situated on the west part of Gourdon Hill or Bekmane Hill. This is one of the points mentioned in the Royal Charter of Inverbervie as a point on the Royalty Boundary. There is no mention of it in the Statistical accounts or other parish documents, but it is evidently a very fine Tumulus of the elongated type, it is broadest at the East end and tapers to the west, it is a very conspicuous object and can be seen for a considerable distance.
