115 | The ruins of the Old Catholic Church at the head of Loch Laggan one gable is still entire and a considerable portion of the wall is as yet in a tollerable state of preservation this Church was dedicated to St Kenneth and is according to tradition one of the seven Churches built by the famous freebooter "Allan Cameron" of the family of Locheil called by the highlanders "Allain nan Creach." It was never used as a place of Protestant worship. It is a well known fact that the builder of this Church was a great freebooter, but having become penitent his father confessor imposed upon him as a penance to build seven Churches, and is one of the seven |
