This is the Remains of an Old Camp or Fort at the High Water Mark & situated on the Farm of Auchmithie SE. [South East] from Tanglehall; it is nearly Surrounded by a Cliff almost Perpendicular, the only approach being from the Mainland where it was defended by what appears to have been very strong and extensive Earthworks, which are yet in tolerable preservation
