This school has been in existance since at least 1726; and the present schoolhouse was erected by subscription in 1846. The teacher Alexander Lindsay has a dwelling house, a garden & a pendicle of land of about 5 Acres in extent, and also draws school fees, besides which he receives from the Kirk session of Monikie a salary of 2£s a year, The number of scholars at present on the roll is 28, Reading, writing, gramar, arithmetic, are the branches taught This school is entirely under the management and control of the Kirk Session
