026 A small circular knolll rising a few feet above the ground around it. Inside is a small hollow, or pit, in which the Gallows is supposed to have stood. It was the place where the lairds of Balnamoon caused to be executed the offenders within their barony.

026 An extensive wood, extending from the top of the White Catterthun, to the public road on the North of traces 5 & 6 of this sheet. The greater part of the north has been planted with fir, and the south has been recently nearly all cut down. That on the south was chiefly natural wood. A portion is now is process of cultivation.
