044 | [Situation] About 6 chains W by S. [West by Southj] of Forthringham House. This name applies to the place where the old Parish Church was erected It stood on a small eminence a few perches West of Fothringham House in the centre of a Burial ground. The church fell into disuse at, or a short time previous, to the present church being built, (1754) There were no remains of the Church left, all Vestges of it were cleared away in improving the grounds about Fothringham House but in order to note the place, its site and that of the Grave Yard is planted with Trees and Shrubs |
