I attach extracts from the Lands
of the Lindsays, from which it
may be in ferred that a
Castle once stood at Carnegie.
This may be presumed from the
fact of the lands of Carnegie
having been at one time in
possession of the ancestors of
the Earl of Southesk.
See also the communication from
A Jervise Esq:, author of the
"Lands of the Lindsays" attached
to the Name sheet (45-7) on
which Carmyllie Castle is
described.
