On the bank of the water of Keil, to the north of Largo House, is an old square tower, part of the Castle of Balcruvie, anciently also called Pitcruvie. In all probability this castle was erected by Sir John Lindsay, as a seperate residence during his father's lifetime.The traditions is that Balcruvie belonged to the family of Crawford ; but this is a mistake originating in the fact that the family of Lindasy at a subsequent period,succeeded to the estates and titles of the Earl of Crawford.
