The site of an old Castle on the East of Lindores, and close by Lindores House, the site of it is now planted with trees but the surface earth is a mixture of fragments of broken stones and lime morter, such debris as commonly exist when a building is removed from. Close bye it is a cave supposed to have formerly been a Cellar in connection with the Castle. The Castle is said to have been a baronial residence belonging to a family named Makgill. there is no local Knowledge of the date at which it was erected or became a ruin and was removed.
