A small village composed of houses one and two stories high all in good repair with gardens attached. There are three grocers shops in the village. The inhabitants are composed of weavers and agricultural laborers. It is feued from Duncan Morrison Esq. of Naughton. It owes its name to the circumstance of being situated near where the old parish Kirk stood.
