Sir
In answer to your
remarks on the accompanying
name Sheet relating to the
Pit of Sculls, it is generally
believed in the Neighbourhood of
Meralsford that the freestone
Quarry marks the place,
where the Sculls were found the
object marked Whins on the NE
[North East] side of the quarry is
Supposed to be the other pit or place referred to by Mr Small.
The most respectable
inhabitants have been Consulted on
this matter by me but I cannot
elicit any further information.
