A Small Farmhouse with office attached in bad repair, Occupied by David Howie and the Property of the Right Hon. [Honourable] The Earl of Glasgow. It formed the portion of Devon Common allotted to him at its division among the Heritors; hence its name.-

This name applies to a large district of land which was formerly a Common but has long been inclosed and divided among the Heritors etc. The greater part thereof being of a Mossy nature has been planted with Fir trees which in time will absorb the moisture and so prepare it for Agricultural Operations. It is the property of J. Balfour of Balbirnie and others. -
