034 | A ruin in the centre of the Church yard adjoining the W. side of the Manse built ab[ou]t the year 1500. In the year 1592. Lord Lindsay, the {.?.} of the living, called on the Session to appoint a Minister to this Church when the Rev[eren]d John Row was chosen. In 1593. on a Sunday, the roof fell in; but owing to illness of Pastor there was no service at the time; otherwise, no doubt many would have been lost. 3 years lasped after this accident before the church was repaired. it has been used ever since as the parish church until within the last {.?.} Rev[eren]d Jno Row was buried in a beautiful tomb at the E. end of the Church. |
